tenderloin

Sometimes preceded by its rough and rowdy reputation, the Tenderloin is home to a close-knit community of families, artists, activists, non-profits and entertainment venues. The neighborhood’s proximity to Downtown and SoMa make it an attractive option for young professionals who work in those areas and appreciate an urban on-the-go lifestyle. Housing is primarily in the form of rent-controlled apartments and single-room occupancies, making it ideal for those preparing to settle in a more traditional neighborhood.
