Hot on the heels of introducing Eastwood Development’s Kansas Street project last month, we have another boutique build by the developer to announce. Located at 986 South Van Ness Avenue and 21st Street, 15 new homes are under construction at an Inner Mission site aptly named 9 Eighty 6. The mid-rise condominium community consists of a mix of Studio, 1- and 2-Bedroom units, a dozen of which are market-rate and three are below-market rate (BMR).

According to listing broker Sotheby’s International Realty which represents the developer, construction at 9 Eighty 6 is anticipated to wrap up in April 2024. Anything can happen in the interim, of course, but one thing appears increasingly certain: time is on sellers’ side. Improving mortgage interest rates and inventory absorption, especially as they pertain to the market for entry-level homes like these, may make for accelerated price growth like we haven’t seen in years.
