In additional to the many professionals and families that live in this predominately residential area, a significant part of the population is students attending the University of San Francisco.
Set on a hill, as Lone Mountain’s name suggests, homes have incredible views — some sweeping from the skyline to the Golden Gate Bridge, others overlooking Golden Gate Park and out to Sutro Tower. Houses are generally spacious and have well-preserved vintage interior details including crown moldings, decorative ceilings and arched entryways.
Angelo J. Rossi playground and pool offers baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and indoor swimming. The Koret Health and Recreation Center at the university campus is also open to the public and has a pool, fitness center, and various group classes.
