230 7th Street New Condos Rising
On a recent foggy summer day, we dropped by the new condominium development 230 7th Street in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood to check in on construction progress.
The mixed use project consists of five levels of residential units above ground-level commercial space and garage, spanning from 7th Street to Langton Street between Folsom Street and Howard Street. (Locals will recognize that Sightglass Coffee is just a few doors down.) While the elevation on 7th Street is thoroughly modern in design, the Langton frontage incorporates adaptive reuse of an historical circa 1924 brick-masonry facade that encloses a planned open-air courtyard.
