The majority of homes in Presidio Heights were built between 1900 and 1930, and no expense was spared in putting the original occupants’ fortunes on display. The neighborhood includes examples of work by San Francisco’s most notable architects: Julia Morgan, Bernard Maybeck, Ernest Coxhead and Willis Polk. It’s not uncommon for real estate here to sell for eight-figure prices.

Upscale dining establishments and boutiques are found along Sacramento Street. To the south, Laurel Village serves the area with a variety of shops, cafes, grocers, banks and a hardware store.
