north panhandle
Historically part of Western Addition, North Panhandle (“NoPa”) came into being in recent decades in a movement to promote smaller neighborhoods. Today, it’s one of the most diverse parts of the city featuring historic Victorian homes, apartment houses, and student and senior housing set between Panhandle Park to the south, University of San Francisco to the north, St. Mary’s Medical Center to the west, and the Divisadero corridor to the east.

Residents who live in NoPa enjoy the opportunity to get around with bus lines running through and around the area. While Divisadero and all its amenities is a stone’s throw away, the cafes and restaurants that line Hayes Street cater to neighborhood residents and give every reason stay local.
