Summer is here and, historically, peak travel season coincides with a slowdown in market activity in San Francisco. Fewer new listings and shrinking selection of inventory are to be expected but, for home buyers, it also means less competition and the possibility to negotiate a bargain price for properties that aren’t so hot.

Data reported by realtor.com reveals that, on average, more than 30 listings per day received price cuts in May 2023. While sometimes resulting in a transparent buy-it-now price or one designed to create a bidding war (a teaser price if you will), motivated sellers wishing to strike a deal sooner rather than later may still accept less. The recent sales below were all below-list following at least one reduction.
