noe valley
Noe Valley began as a working-class neighborhood more than a century ago, and is today one of San Francisco’s most desirable areas. Scarce is a block where at least one of the original homes has not been transformed into a modern mansion, however the area still boasts one of the city’s largest collections of Victorians. Families, executives, and young people alike call Noe Valley home, drawn by its central location, favorable microclimate, and true neighborhood vibe.

Most of the neighborhood’s amenities line bustling 24th Street, crossed by transit-rich Church Street to the east and Castro Street to the west. Philz Coffee, NOVY Restaurant, Saru Sushi and Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers are among the local favorites, alongside an array of independently-owned specialty shops and small businesses. In the heart of the strip is the Noe Valley Town Square, home to a year-round Saturday farmers’ market boasting farm-fresh goods and street eats from local vendors.
At the southern end of the neighborhood is an area referred to by locals as “Upper Noe.” Here, the intersection of Church Street and 30th Street form a hub of shops and restaurants. Numerous parks and open spaces in the vicinity including Glen Park Canyon and Bernal Heights Park offer an opportunity to enjoy San Francisco’s natural beauty. Don’t miss the famous rope swing atop Billy Goat Hill!
